徐小牛，isProfessorofSilvicultureandForestBiogeochemistryaltheAnhuiAgriculturalUniversity.wherehehasbeenamemberofthefacultyintheSchoolofForestryandLandscapeArchitecturesince1983.HereceivedhisM.A.fromtheUniversityoftheRyukyusin1999andhisPh.D.fromKagoshimaUniversityofJapanin2002.During2003-2005，hewasapost-doctorfellowtoconductresearchonbiogeochemistryofforestecosysteminHokkaidoUniversityofJapan.
Hewasawardedanationalmodelteacherin2009.
Hisresearchhasconcernedawiderangeofecologicallevels，includingecologicalphysiology，communityecology，ecosystemecology.forestbiogeochemistry，anddisturbanceecology.Hiscurrentresearchconcernstheeffectsofforestmanagementoncarbonsequestration，thenaturaldisturbances（e.g.typhoon，herbivory，icestorm）ondynamicsandbiogeochemistryofforestecosystems.
