《博鳌亚洲论坛亚洲经济一体化进程2014年度报告》认为，亚洲经济的一体化化进程仍在持续进行之中。同时，受种种复杂因素影响，亚洲贸易增长和一体化进程出现一些减慢迹象。关于亚洲的一体化仍然在持续，报告指出，2012年，亚洲贸易的自身依存度达到历史最高水平。2011年，亚洲贸易的自身依存度指数曾出现小幅下降，从2010的54.98%降至2011年的54.07%。2012年的依存度指数上升至59.49%。
