Henry Primus left, but he kept thinking of the cattle. He could not deny that it was the perfect dairy cattle, which he had been seeking for so many years. It could be made into a good drumhead after it was well-fed and became plump and sturdy. But he could not accept Lil Monster Wang''s request. The “Dragon''s Paw” was his treasure. He would not sell it to anyone from other villages no matter how poor he was. The fellow villagers would not allow him to do this, nor would he himself. Arriving home, he was filled with gloom. He sat alone, smoking. He was waiting for Sunday. When Wednesday just passed, he asked his wife how many days away was Sunday. When Sunday came, he felt extremely uneasy. He went to the market early in the morning. When he arrived at the town, he did not go to the cattle market. He kept wandering in the streets. He had a bowl of mutton soup for breakfast. Hours later, he set off for the cattle market. He walked around in the market, but did not see Lil Monster Wang. He wondered whether Wang decided not to sell the cattle. He panicked and regretted for losing the cattle.
Suddenly, he saw that dairy cattle pulled into the market by Lil Monster Wang. He realized that Wang was so shrewd, like him, that he was testing his patience and determination. He had heard of Lil Monster Wang, a big name at Upper Park Woods. It is said that he could do Kungfu and was always ready to defend the weak and helpless. And he sometimes did something deceptive in order to dominate the market. He was very scheming, for which he earned the name “Tiger” and gained wealth. Henry Primus pretended that he did not see him. Wang stood in the market with the cattle beside him. Henry Primus went on wandering around the market and negotiating with the other sellers. Wang picked up a branch to scrape off the mud on the cattle, without communicating with anyone. The cattle, standing still to enjoy the combing, had its bright yellow hair shimmering in the sun.
