| 內容簡介: |
This book is designed for the course on the surface catalysis and colloidal chemistry that has been taught by the compilers at College of Nano Science and Technology (Soochow University) for more than ten years. Since the course participants are graduate and senior undergraduate students who already have knowledge in organic and inorganic chemistry, statistical thermodynamics, and physical chemistry, this book presents neither fundamental concepts of the above fields nor complex mathematical theories and derivations. This book therefore elucidates the chemistry of catalytic action and the qualitative description of catalytic processes.
This book begins with basic concepts in catalytic reactions and the role of catalysts. The contents cover classical catalytic systems (including such topics as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, biocatalysis, and self-catalysis), synthesis and characterization techniques of catalysts, catalytic properties of nanostructures (including nanoparticles, nanospace bounds, metal clusters, metallic oxygen clusters, monoatomic catalysis, etc.), the new energy and environmental catalysis technology, and a brief introduction to the research progress in modern catalysis. Chapters 1 through 6 are based on the classic kinetics and catalysis, while Chapters 7 through 11 are devoted to the catalytic chemistry in nanosystems. Finally, Chapter 12 shows the perspective to unify the different approaches and problem solutions in catalysis.
